It was 24th October 12 o’clock when our smartmob took place on the occasion of the „Lange Tag der Flucht“. Themed #partofthepuzzle numerous students sang the Ode an die Freude at the Viennese Stephansplatz supported by the Radiosymphonieorchester and the choire Voices of volunteers.
Afterwards the students wrote down their messages and wishes for refugees onto blank pieces of a puzzle and put them together.
It was very important for us to not just show our solidarity but also to have something refugees can profit from directly. So we translated the messages into several languages in cooperation with refugees. Now they are brought to Viennese institutions where refugees can read them in their mother leanguages. May the messages bring hope, courage and joy!
