Day Two and Three – Paris Meeting

Day 2

The second day started with a very interesting presentation about the asylum policy in the EU. With some new points of view, I was really motivated for following workshops. In the afternoon, we were going to a Roma slum. It really was a great possibility to get to know the people and to get a little insight in their lives. Afterwards we ended the day with a coming together in one Caritas migration center. In the end, I was going to bed with many new thoughts in my mind.

Day 3

Day 3 was all about discussing, brainstorming and planning future actions. Let me show you how this went:

Somebody explained
Others listened
Somebody wondered
Others answered
Somebody excited
Others reacted
Somebody worried
Others eased
Somebody brainstormed
Others performed
Somebody proposed
Everyone agreed: it’s #bettertogether!

So: This is going to be our motto for the international youngCaritas Day in September! But guess what? When people from different countries come together, the result of it must be quite manifold, right? So to make sure that each group can implement this motto in the appropriate way, it’s now the task of each of them to plan the specific actions, as well as starting a long term project about stereotypes and contributing to a letter which will be sent to the European parliament. So, the weekend in Paris may be over but our enthusiasm isn’t – stay tuned! And by the way: We think that together is better!
